The Tony Blair Foundation has announced the opening of entries for its global film competition,Faith Shorts, and according to the foundation,India has been very enthusiastic, with maximum entries coming in from here. Indeed last year’s winner was also from India – Shiv Tandon from Haryana. The competition aims to breakdown religious stereotypes and build understanding by giving people of the age group 14-18 years the opportunity to share with the world how their faith motivates them through film. Tony Blair, founder and patron of the foundation, upon hearing of the large number of entries from India, has said,“I am overwhelmed and humbled by the levels of enthusiasm I have seen from young Indians- not just for this film competition but in pursuit of interfaith harmony more generally.” The prize for the winning films is an all-expenses-paid trip to London for the premier of the film at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) later this year and the opportunity to make a film with a professional crew. Deadline for entries is the 1st July 2011. For further details, log on to http://www.faithshorts.org.uk
