On Friday,a cleaner of a private bus was killed after he was thrown off the bus after the driver applied sudden brake at Ahimsa chowk in Chinchwad around 10.30 pm on Friday. Cleaner Anil Chavan (42),a resident of Tadiwala Road,was thrown off the bus and died in hospital.

The Chinchwad police have booked the driver Shivpal Ram on charges of negligent driving.

On the same day,a senior citizen was killed when a speeding truck knocked him down while he was trying to cross the road. The Pimpri police have arrested truck driver Vilas Ramchandra Prajapati (36),a resident of Mulund,for allegedly knocking down 62-year-old Dhramadev Suraj Yadav at KSB chowk in Chinchwad at 8 pm on Friday. Yadav,a resident of Indiranagar in Pimpri,was on a cycle and was crossing the road when the truck hit his cycle,killing him on the spot.

In another incident,a speeding truck ran over an unidentified person who was sleeping near Wakdewadi petrol pump on the Mumbai-Pune Road at 2.30 am on Friday. The police have arrested truck driver Vivekananda Dishanta Murti (50),of Tamil Nadu,in this case. The complaint in this case was registered at the Khadki police station. Sub inspector M L Walvekar is investigating the case.

On early Saturday morning,an unidentified car knocked down a motorcycle killing its rider Sachin Maruti Khule. The accident took place near St Mira College around 12.15 am. Khule’s nephew Mahesh Nandraj Pathare (25) has lodged a complaint at the Bundgarden police station.

According to the complaint,Pathare and Khule,both residents of Khulewadi on Ahmednagar Road,had gone for a marriage in Camp area on Friday evening.

They were returning home when the speeding vehcile knocked them down. Khule died on the spot and Pathare sustained severe injuries. Sub inspector T K Talpade is investigating the case.
