‘Twinkle Khanna ensures my bed’s wet when I go to sleep’: Akshay Kumar reveals how wife shows she’s mad at him

Actors Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna often find themselves and their marriage as the headline for different tabloids. The two have been extremely candid about the 25 years they have spent with each other, and Akshay recently gave another example of that. During a recent promo of his new show Wheel of Fortune, the actor could be seen giving some marriage advice to Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, who have also been married for 14 years.

During the promo, Akshay enquired about the time Ritiesh and Genelia have been together for. Riteish replied, “10 years of dating and 14 years of marriage, so it’s been 24 years in total.” Akshay shut him down and said emotionally, “25 years!” The whole crowd, along with the third celebrity guest, Shreyas Talpade, started laughing at the way Akshay said the sentence. Riteish rushed over to him and gave him a long hug.

Akshay continued, “25 saal wale ko puch. Sorry bolna seekho (Ask the person who’s been married for 25 years. You have to learn how to say sorry).” Genelia quickly jumped into the conversation and said, “He is ‘sorry’, Deshmukh.” As the whole crowd started laughing, Riteish clarified that he apologises very quickly. Akshay continued and said that his wife has a very unique way of letting him know that she is mad at him.

He said, “Meri biwi ka alag hai (My wife has a different way). If my wife is angry with me, I will get to know that when I come to sleep at night. Because when I go to sleep, I find out that my side of the bed is completely wet — she throws water on it. ” Riteish proceeded to laugh his heart out and say, “I love Tina (Twinkle’s birth name),” as he gave a sympathetic hug to Akshay.

The new show Wheel of Fortune is being hosted by Akshay Kumar, and it begins streaming on Sony Liv and Sony Television from January 27. It is based on the format of the hit American television show by the same name, where contestants spin a giant wheel and solve riddles in order to win cash prizes and more.
