The group puts up a show dedicated to S D Burman every year on October 31,his death anniversary, including performances titled O Re Maazi . Shows dedicated to Shankar Jaikishan, called Yaad Kiya Dil Ne ,are also part of the yearly agenda. In fact, the credit of organising the first major show in Pune dedicated to Madan Mohan goes to this group. The show was held on his 25th death anniversary in 2000 and was called Nainon Mein Badara Chhaye. Marathi songs of Asha Bhosale have also been performed to impressive audience response. We perform old Indian classical music, which has to be played live. The group comprises professional people from advertising and printing companies, who perform solely for the love of classical music. We want to recreate the music of the golden era so that more and more people become familiar with it, says Girish Rao,the founder.
Although the group has been relatively inactive for the last two years, they feel it is important to start performing once again to popularise the music from so many years ago. The show today will feature two male and two female singers alongwith 25 accompanying musicians. The group will perform the most famous of Madan Mohans ghazals and classical songs.
