Five stranded in lift,rescued by fire brigade

Five persons stranded for an hour in a lift at Sterling Centre,M G Road,on Tuesday evening,were rescued by the fire brigade officers.

Five persons stranded for an hour in a lift at Sterling Centre,M G Road,on Tuesday evening,were rescued by the fire brigade officers. Kailas Thorat,Pawan Kabra,Sangram Badhe,Prasad Walvekar and Mosen Khan,all of them working in various offices at Sterling centre,were going from first floor to the fourth floor when the lift stuck mid-way. “Those waiting at the ground floor tried calling the lift to the ground floor. However,instead of stopping there,the lift went down to the basement and stopped,” said Thorat. ENS

A fire brigade rescue van from Naidu centre and another one from central fire station reached the spot around 6 pm.

“The lift which has a capacity of six persons was not overloaded. This would have happened due to a technical fault,” said Gajanan Pathrudkar,station duty officer at the fire brigade control room.
