First-ever Virtual IT Chess Tournament

DECOS Software Development Company,have initiated this tournament and Value Plus Sales Marketing & Research Company are the co-initiators of the idea. Marrquee Events Private Limited is managing the tournament.

Grand Master Abhijit Kunte is heading the tournament technical committee. The tournament is hosted on one of the world’s leading portals for playing online chess games (Internet Chess Club).

“Chess is a thinking game. It stimulates your mind and exercises your brain. If you want to exercise your mind,relax yourself from the stress and pressure,have fun,and kill the boredom,then the ideal solution would be a game of chess. Since online chess games have revolutionized the way chess is played,you can now meet people from all around the world who just want to chat and play a game of chess. Its fun and challenging,” says Abhijit Kunte.

The advantage of the tournament being online means there is no restriction to the number of companies that can participate and also no limit to the number of employees that can play from a given company.

Registration fees are only Rs1000 per company for the Tier I IT companies and Rs500 per company for the tier II and tier III IT companies. (Tier I will be companies having employees more than 250 for the purpose of this tournament).

“We have more than 90 companies registered for the tournament till date. Some of the registered companies are- IBM India Pvt Ltd, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Honeywell Automation India Ltd., HSBC Software development (India) Pvt. Ltd., Persistent Systems Ltd., Tech Mahindra, TIBCO, Symphony Services Pune P. Ltd., R Systems International Ltd.,3D PLM Software Solutions Ltd,” said Ameya Kulkarni.

“We have also begun work for our next phase where we are taking the tournament to Bangalore,Mumbai,Chennai and Hyderabad. Our third phase of the tournament is targeted at 10 major cities globally,” he added.
