Two parents of students of Crescent High School have gone on indefinite hunger strike outside the office of directorate of secondary education Bhalchandra Desle demanding a fee regulation act for private unaided schools.
Matin Mujawar and Nitin Dixit of th proposed Crescent High School Parents Association started the hunger strike around 8 am on Monday.
We have given a memorandum of our demands to Desle. There is a urgent need to bring in the act since parents have been suffering from the incessant fee hike private schools have been forcing, said Mujawar.
The Tamil Nadu government has enacted a law to curb fee hike. The Maharashtra government should also follow suit. Private unaided schools have been hiking the fees in the name of admission or development fee every year, he said.
