The newly-launched Fiat Café offers you the relaxed ambience of a lounge with coffee and a stylish mix of cars
Located off the North Main Road in between the entrances to lane 5 and lane 6 the Fiat Caffe cannot be missed. Chequered flags and cars standing on the ground floor combined with a cutaway section of a car engine,a bicycle and a section that houses car merchandise give it a unique look. A three by three LCD wall displays videos of rally races that Fiat has been a part of. Done up in red and white colours, amalgamated with glass and steel, the structure is one of the only two Fiat Caffes in India with the other one being in Delhi. The one in Pune was launched on Friday.
As per Enrico Atanaso,Head- Commercial- Fiat India,India is the only country in the world that boasts of two Fiat Cafes. Explaining the concept of the place Atanaso says,The idea is simple, while the place is a lounge a part of it is also a Fiat showroom. Basically not everyone walking in is a customer. People can just come to the lounge catch a few games,or an F1 race,IPL (Indian premier League) matches, chill and have a good time.
The cafe also has a coffee bar on the first floor with a mini area that can be used for gigs. Another corner of the wall is adorned by car magazines and books that talk about the history of the company. Marius D’lima,Head Corporate Communication,Fiat India, says,The area on the first floor will be a multi-purpose one. Right from having parties to small events and from game screenings to live gigs they can all be organised here. D’Lima makes it a point to talk about the exclusivity of the place. We are not looking at everyone who walks in here to be a prospective customer. We just want people to come and see the place and relax. In addition it is wi-fi enabled so they can bring their work along. The Fiat merchandise section will be for anyone who wished to purchase racing or lifestyle gear with the Fiat brandmark.
The seats in the lounge are reminiscent of the Star Trek series, with their futuristic look and feel. While the coffee bar as of now has a limited range of Italian espressos, lattes and cappuccinos,D’Lima mentions that a collection of teas will be a part of the menu soon. The reason we zeroed in on Pune is because of the atmosphere and the young crowd here. We want it to become a lifestyle statement for people here, he says.
