The horseracing fraternity in the city is fairly unaffected and indifferent to news of Hasan Ali Khan being picked up by the Enforcement Directorate after an eight-hour search of his residence in Pune. Khan stays with wife Rheema and son at Tulip Apartment in Valentina Society in Koregaon Park.
Faizal Abbas,Khans brother-in-law and a horse trainer who has been training Khans horses for over five years now,said,At this moment,I have no comment. The only thing I can say is let things take their own time. Everything would be known in due course.
While Pesi Shroff,former ace jockey and now a trainer refused to admit he even knew the horse owner,Bakhtawar Chinoy,wife of horse trainer Bezan Chinoy and an avid race goer herself,said that since she was unaware of details of the case,its not possible to really react.
Hasan Ali Khan,popularly known as H A Khan,has been a regular at the races in Pune and Mumbai. I hardly knew him. He was quite aloof and never socialised much at the racecourse. In fact,I dont remember seeing him there for the past two years… I didnt know him enough to even say hello,though of course if I saw his wife I would smile at her. Her father and brother of course are regulars at the course and I know them well. I would feel sorry for the family I guess, said Bakhtawar.
