Security guards threatened, Rs 5 lakh extortion demanded from EON Kharadi Infrastructure; FIR lodged

A group of about 10 people, including a murder accused, allegedly tried to enter into a property owned by EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited Company illegally on Wednesday and demanded Rs 5 lakh.
A 51-year-old retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Indian Army, who works as a security head with the EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited, lodged an FIR at the Kharadi police station on Wednesday.
The Pune city police have so far arrested four people while a search is on for six others. Those arrested have been identified as Raju Tukaram Aswale (27), Himesh Subhash More (18), Akash Sanjay More (24) and Ankush Ashok Adsul (28), all residents of Chandan Nagar area in Pune.
According to the FIR, EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited owns a property at Survey number 42 in Kharadi. It further stated that “Infinity Facility Services” Company has been appointed for the security of this property.
The complainant looks after the duties and other issues of the security guards deployed by Infinity Facility Services at the property.
As per the FIR, around 5.20 pm, a group of about 10 people on five two-wheelers gathered at the spot and created a ruckus. They allegedly asked the security guards to tell the owner of EON Kharadi Infrastructure Private Limited to give them Rs 5 lakh for doing any work at the site.
The men also allegedly threatened they would not allow the property owner to live and destroy the compound of the property, if the money was not paid. The FIR mentions that the accused men manhandled the security guards and crossed the compound gate forcibly.
The complainant rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. A security guard had taken photographs of the accused and their two-wheelers. The complainant filed a complaint on behalf of the company at the Kharadi police station. He shared the photographs of the accused with the police.
Police identified some of the accused persons having a previous criminal record and booked the 10 people under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 308(2)(3)(4), 189, 189(2), 190, 191, 329 (1)(3), 115(2), 351(2), 352 and sections of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
Police sub inspector Rahul Kolpe, who is investigating the case, said, “Raju Aswale was earlier booked in a murder case. A few more accused persons in this case have a previous criminal record. We have arrested four persons and a court has sent them to police custody for two days for further investigation.”
