Anisa Sayyed feted on RIMS sports day

RIMS International School and Junior College recently celebrated its second sports day. National Shooting Champion Anisa Sayyed,a Chhatrapati Award winner,was felicitated on the occasion. The sports day began with traditional lighting of the torch followed by the oath-taking ceremony. Students came up with an impressive display and tiny tots won the admiration of all. A human pyramid by UKG students,aerobics by LKG students and a drill by the nursery section,showing perfect coordination,won all-round applause. RIMS managing director Museeb Rais thanked parents for encouraging children to take interest in sports activities. He also appreciated the staff for putting up a grand spectacle. Impressed by the sporting spirit shown by the young ones,Sayyed,who was also the chief guest,urged parents to help inculcate a love for outdoor or indoor sports in children. RIMS headmistress Amruta Prabhu welcomed the chief guest,directors and parents to the annual sports meet.

50 colleges to take part in FLAME fest

Business school FLAME will organise its first inter-college festival,CREO,for college students across the country. The festival two-day fest to begin on December 10 on the college campus will have participation of more than 50 colleges from across the country. ‘Limitless’ is the over-arching theme of the competition. A host of events in fields ranging from literary arts to fine arts and performing arts to management will be organised. Workshops on ethical hacking and sculpting will also be part of the fest.

‘Session on studies in US after Class-XII’

Swanand Foundation,Pune,will organise a question-answer session on ‘US undergraduate education’ on December 4 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Muktangan Exploratory on Senapati Bapat Road from 6 to 8 pm. Students and parents will get to explore the option of studies in the USA after Class XII. Enrolment for the session can be done at the venue at 5.30 pm. Another MIT group heads for USF

With the aim of developing closer links between institutes of higher education in India and the US,the MIT School of Management has sent a group of 17 undergraduates and two faculty members to the University of South Florida (USF). Every day,students will attend a series of events at the USF. The events will include lectures on management negotiations,financial data mining and market branding. Students who have already gone to USF on November 24 will be back in the city on December 5.

I2IT to host event for children living with HIV

Students of the International Institute of Information Technology,Pune (I2IT) will invite around 14 children living with HIV/AIDS from Sparsh Balgram,an NGO. The organisation works for nourishment of such children. The students will share lunch with the children,interact with them and organise a small event for them. The children will perform a dance and drama recital on campus. Students of I2IT will offer them monetary help besides fruits,chocolates,woollen clothes and toys.
