PG course in urban design launched at Symbiosis

Symbiosis School of Planning and Architecture in Lavale has launched a post-graduate programme in urban design. The two-year full time programme has been approved by the Council of Architecture. The programme aims to train students who have cleared COA approved bachelor of architecture programme or its equivalent in the field of urban design. For details log on to http://www.sspa.edu.in.

Russian universities announce scholarships

Russian universities have announced the opening of admissions to medicine and engineering courses for Indian students. The cost of the courses is within the range of Rs 2.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh a year. For ensuring safety and transparency,the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in India has recognised Edurussia as the authorised admission department of the Russian state and government universities in India. “Admissions are conducted as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) rules and regulations and the applicants should have more than 50 per cent in Physics,Chemistry and Biology in Class XII from any state or central board of education in India. The cut-off for the reserved category student is 40 per cent,” said Manoj Patki of Edurussia.

ESA brings ACSM fitness courses to India

The Exercise Science Academy (ESA) has announced the launch of American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) fitness courses in India. ESA is the only official centre of ACSM in India that conducts these courses. Some of the courses offered are certified personal trainer,certified health fitness specialist programme and nutrition and weight management courses. ESA also conducts various workshops through the year on varied topics for fitness trainers,personal trainers,nutritionist,physiotherapists,doctors,aerobics instructors,yoga instructors and now for general population too. UK university announces scholarships

Sheffield Hallam University (SHU),UK,has announced a package of scholarships,discounts and bursaries for Indian students applying to courses such as animation and visual effects,sports engineering,criminology and mobile computing application. The package under the ‘Transform Together Scholarships’ programme is for its September,2013 intake. The scholarship consists of a one-year full tuition fee waiver for full-time post-graduate courses and 50 per cent fee discount for each year of an undergraduate course. The university is also offering four scholarships as part of the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme that covers tuition fees and living and travel costs for a master’s course. Applications for scholarships should be submitted by June 30. The panel meet will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified after almost a month.
