DP to be made available in simple language

Janvani,a social initiative of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture,has taken upon itself to make available the Development Plan (DP) in a simplified language to citizens. A book authored by town planning architect Prof RN Gohad,which was published recently,explains the provisions made in the draft DP in simple language. The reports and the suggestions made in the DP are very technical,which make them difficult for citizens to comprehend. It was observed that few citizens filed suggestions and objections when the draft DP was made open to their scrutiny. Through this book,Janvani hopes to make citizens more aware of their rights and facilitate them in voicing their suggestions and objections during the legal process of the draft DP. The book includes a chapter on DP and its provisions,a ward-wise map of Pune and a list of new reservations made in the revised DP.
