The 29th Pune District Yoga Competition,conducted by the Yoga Federation of India and held at the Podar International School,Chinchwad was a huge success,with practitioners of the ancient sport turning up in droves to vie for the top spot.
The most prestigious prize in the tournament,the top spot in the advanced 40-60 age group went to Chandrakant Pangare in the Mens section,while Alaka Jadhav won top honours in the Womens section.
At the other end of the spectrum were Deepak Jaiswal and Prachi Waghchoude,who finished first in the Boys and Girls competitions respectively in the 8-12 years age group. The top three finishers from each of the six age groups in both the Mens and Womens events have been selected to represent the city in the 29th
Maharashtra State Yoga Competition to be held at Ahmednagar from August 27 to August 29.
