Putting an end to the controversy surrounding the abrupt closure of Aviation and Hospitality Academy (AHA),Pune, the management not only announced resumption of classes from today, but also cleared the salary dues of the staff.
Describing it an attack on their image, the legal consultant and financial advisor of the company said: Due to a dispute between the management and the franchisee staff over salary, the institute was closed. But we are distributing the salary from today (Sunday).
Following the dispute, several faculty and management members had submitted their resignation on October 21. It is to be seen how many withdraw their resignation and return to work tomorrow.
AHA director Sapna Gupta said first she would order an enquiry against the local management, but hastened to add that what she meant by enquiry was the conduct of a general audit. She said she has already dispatched funds to overcome the crisis.
Blaming recession for the delay in salary, she said: We have had a bad season due to the slowdown that led to delay in distribution of salary, but now we have resolved the issue. I sent my representative and funds to pay the faculties and other staff because the priority is students…
Heena Bansal, assistant branch manager, said: We have seen the institute grow right from its inception. Now,we are also witnessing its downfall, thanks to the attitude of the directors towards their staff. People are working here for the past two months without salary¿ We all resigned on October 21 and stopped coming to the institute from October 22. About the future course,I dont know how many would come back. Ravindra Jain, branch manager,AHA has also resigned. However,he said he would re-consider his decision for the benefit of students and the company. The management has not accepted my resignation and they are requesting me to consider the situation and withdraw it,which I plan to do.
