Mahadev Gaikwad, a representative of a state-level BEd teachers’ association said, “According to the last official notice, the deadline for filling preferences is February 9 but we need some more time as many candidates from various parts of Maharashtra have not been able to do so yet. We have informed the authorities and have been assured that the deadline will be extended.”

This challenge was conveyed to the authorities via email and a press note issued by the education department on Wednesday evening. It stated that some aspirants faced this issue due to discrepancies in self-certification and due to technical reasons.

“Considering the number of emails, you are requested to wait for the reply. Candidates are requested not to crowd the education office and instead convey their issues through email. Maximum queries will be resolved through email,” said the notice issued by the education department.

Recruitment is being done for Marathi-medium, Hindi-medium, Urdu-medium schools along with a few positions in Tamil, Telugu and Bengali schools.
