Cricket: Cadence win Kalewar Trophy

Cadence Cricket Club defeated Deccan Gymkhana by 38 runs in the final of the Kalewar Trophy at the Deccan Gymkhana Ground.

Cadence won the toss and decided to bat first. They put up a decent total of 257 runs and were dismissed in 49.5 overs. Prayag Bhati top scored with 71 runs of 56 balls which included four fours and two sixes.

Kapil Raut supported him well,scoring 66 runs. For Deccan, Kiran Adhav was the pick of the bowlers scalping five wickets for 48 runs in 9.5 overs while Aditya Dole supported him well with a couple of wickets of his own. In reply,Deccan Gymkhana managed to score just 179 runs before being bowled out in 37.4 overs. Satyajeet Sathbhai top scored with 52 runs which included six fours and one six.

Virag Awate supported him with 30 runs but it was not enough. Digambar Waghmare and Irfan Pathan took three wickets each for Cadence plotting the downfall of the opposition. The best batsman award went to Kapil Raut of Cadence,the best bowler award went to Chirag Khurana also of Cadence and the best all rounder went to Sachin Aradhye of Deccan gymkhana.
