The Congress and MNS have protested against the announcement by mayor Mohansingh Rajpal that the PMC and PCMC would share the loss of PMPML in the ratio of 60 and 40 respectively.
The state government merged the PMT and PCMT to form a separate company. There is no reason for the PMC to bear the losses of PMPML, said Independent corporator Ujjwal Keskar.
Congress leader Ulhas Bagul said that the mayor had no right to make such an announcement without the consent of the general body. There should be a proposal regarding paying money to PMPML. The decision would be taken by the elected representatives whether to pay for the losses of PMPML, he added.
MNS leader Ravindra Dhangekar said the PMPML was not running the organisation in a professional manner. There is no proper use of money by PMPML. Thus, the PMC should not pay for the losses, he added. Mayor Rajpal said he has directed the civic administration to table a proposal for it at the party leaders meeting.
