Computer parts stolen from central excise office

Days after a robbery bid was reported at the CID office probing the Urban Land Ceiling scam,the office of the Central Excise Department opposite Wadia College was robbed of computer parts worth Rs 92,000.

Days after a robbery bid was reported at the CID office probing the Urban Land Ceiling scam,the office of the Central Excise Department opposite Wadia College was robbed of computer parts worth Rs 92,000.

The theft came to light on Wednesday.

Bundgarden police suspect the incident took place between June 3 and June 5 or Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

A complaint against unidentified persons has been registered with the Bundgarden police. Sudhir Hivale,superintendent (administration),Excise,lodged the complaint.

The suspects allegedly broke into the office through an open window on the third floor and decamped with computer parts from various sections.

None of the officials from the Excise Department were available for comment despite repeated attempts to contact them. Details on the nature of data lost could not be determined. PSI Sonar with Bundgarden police is investigating the case.
