Kon Aahe Re Tikde is all set to have the audience in splits with its clever mix of slapstick and witty humour

While films, which revolve around the protagonists losing their memory, make for both funny as well as serious stories,a story, which has a character having a historical hangover,is a story that by itself would be fresh enough to at least intrigue theatregoers. That precisely is the idea that is being portrayed in the Marathi film Kon Aahe Re Tikde.

The film is a story about Jhunjhar Rao,played by Dr Mohan Agashe and his son,Malhar, played by Subodh Bhave and other family members. Directed by Tanaji Ghadge,Kon Aahe Re Tikde is a situational Marathi comedy revolving around the lives of these characters.

“I read the script and found it interesting. The director seemed modest with his approach and that’s what struck me the most,” says Agashe about his connection with the film, adding,“In fact when we started work on the film it looked like a decent rib-tickler,but after the dubbing and the post-production were over when we saw the final product,it was,to our surprise, really good.”

Living in the past, the film revolves around Shirke who wants his ancestral fort back. He files a case against the government as he feels that he still has right on the ancient fort. The whole comic situation that follows the initial muddle, leads to the build up,which forms the climax of the story.

Arvind Jagtap, who lends the film his scripting skills, said that the screenplay was developed out of a random conversation,he adds,“I have heard of a lot of people who still claim that certain forts belong to their families,it sounded funny to me,that’s how I got my story idea.”

The film also stars Sharad Ponkshe,Mohan Joshi,Shubhangi Gokhale and Mangesh Desai. Shot around areas of Akhluz and Phaltan,in 25 days, the director says that finding an apt location to shoot was the biggest challenge that they had to face. The film is all set to release on May 7.

“Dr Agashe’s role required him to grow his moustache in a peculiar manner, when I met him for the first time,he grew it according to the requirement and asked me if it was suitable. That was the time I was touched the most,” says director Tanaji Ghadge

This is his second film, speaking about it,Ghadge who has had a long-standing association with Marathi television industry says,“I am really happy to have worked with excellent actors and an able crew. In fact that is the reason why it was such a wonderful experience working with them.”
