Two students Rupak Karulkar of Abhinav Vidyalaya and Trupti Joshi of Mar Ivanios Convent School Nigdi will represent Pune at the International conference to be held in Copenhagen in December 2009,the World Climate Day. They were selected from a computer based gaming competition GO-DaC by Pune based Neeti Solutions which along with Global Challenge Award had announced a gaming competition,GO-DaC,(Gaming Olympiad of Disaster and Climate Change) for children between the age group of 13 to 15. Michale Newbill,Economic & Political observer,at USA Consulate,Mumbai was the chief guest for the occasion to announce the winners.

The competition,which attracted nearly 700 students from 50 schools in Pune,was aimed at finding innovative solutions to global climatic and other threats besides creating awareness among young minds about the global disasters looming over us. GO-DaC was conducted over three rounds .In the first round they played five games based on climate change. In the second round students developed their own climate change or disaster management based computer idea game. In the last round the participants played another climate change game,created a presentation while playing the game and presented it in front of a jury.

New course in management
IBS Pune,a business management school announced the introduction of two-year Post Graduate Programme in management (PGPM) for the forthcoming academic year tha begins from Jone 2010. The preparatory classes for PGPM will start in May 2010. Students with a bachelor degree from any discipline with over 50 per cent of aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the course. The applicants will have to appear for IBSAT (IBS Admission Test),an aptitude test,which is to be held on December 27 this year.

Chain act 09
International School of Business & Media (ISB&M),is organising Chain Act ‘09 — a one day conference on supply chain and operations management on November 8 at its auditorium,Nande Village. The event will witness participation of Juzdar Mustan,CEO AFL India,Shakeel Ahmed,head supply chain,Etisalat – Dubai,P K J Mahapatra,dean PG Studies IIT Kharagpur,Thomas Dahlem,director Volkswagen India and many more from leading companies across the globe. They will be sharing their experience and address issues on supply chain and operations management. The theme for the event is — Supply Chain Integration: The Future? Recent research on the most critical supply chain issues and solutions adopted by industry leaders will also bediscussed.
