Talent Night
Manthan 2010,the annual cultural festival of the Sai Balaji Group of Management Institutes,was celebrated at their Hinjewadi campus on April 2. The students put up several entertaining and memorable performances encompassing a wide range of talents like singing,dancing and acting. The highlight of the evening was a fashion show in which the students showcased several Indian and western outfits on the ramp. Miss India 2009 Pooja Chopra and Sitaram Waghmode,Vice Chairman of the Powerloom Board Textile Ministry,graced the event with their presence. The guests of honour distributed awards to the students for their achievements in academics,sports and overall success,capping off a memorable night for all those who were present.
Creative Endeavours
Last Saturday saw a kaleidoscope of events at the RIMS International School and Junior College,Pune. The main event,Edu Expo 2010,featured a number of projects and working models created by the students of various academic departments,showcasing their creativity as well as their knowledge of the subjects. The students of Class VI then presented a puppet show,which focused on the theme of moral values. The students also screened The Day After Tomorrow,a movie based on unconditional parental acceptance of a childs abilities. The students not only acted in this movie,but also took an active part in the making and production.
Author clinches three records
Author of the book The 6 Spheres of Life,Chitra Lele has recently made it to the Limca Book of records for being the first person to win the prestigious Peace Maker Award,and also having received 51 letters of commendations for her book in 68 days. Her book,which was released recently in January ahs also received a letter of commendation from the President of India.
