Primary teachers of Pune Municipal Corporation-run schools on Thursday refused to accept the bonus being distributed by the education board,saying the board had failed in giving bonus as promised earlier.
The board had earlier decided to give 67 per cent bonus,but the PMC sanctioned only Rs 6 crore for the purpose as against the total required amount of Rs 7.8 crore.

The teachers created a ruckus at the education board,following which police had to intervene to bring the situation under control.
The board officials promised that the remaining amount would be given after the election code of conduct is lifted but the teachers did not accept it and refused to collect the bonus saying they will only accept the promised amount.
