Engg student commits suicide

Pune: The body of an engineering student was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the bedroom of her house at Ekta Housing Society in Chinchwad on Friday. The girl,Nutan Hindurao Gaikwad,19,a second-year engineering student,is believed to have committed suicide,although the reason has not been ascertained yet. Her parents were away and her younger brother was present in the house when she took the extreme step,police said. “Nutan locked herself in the bedroom and hanged herself from the ceiling fan with sari,” said Prakash Jadhav,assistant police inspector,Nigdi Police Station. No suicide note was found. In another case,Asha Mane,22,of Yamunanagar in Chinchwad committed suicide by hanging herself on Thursday.
