Hiring in various industrial sectors including IT is gaining momentum in the city. The Naukri job speak index in Pune has shown a significant jump in hiring activity across sectors. The index for March this year stands at 1,274 compared to 1,186 in February,registering a 7 per cent jump in hiring activity. The job index for the IT sector stands at 1198 in March,91 per cent higher than the May 2009 index of 626. There has been a 29 per cent jump in hiring activity,year-on-year.

DSM plans innovation centre in Delhi

DSM India,a life sciences and materials sciences company,is planning to set up an innovation centre in Delhi. DSM has a plant in Ranjangaon and is headquartered at Aundh here. Rajiv Chopra,chief executive officer and managing director,DSM India,said,“This will be our first innovation centre outside the Netherlands.” The centre will partner with the research and development institutions in the country for better business models and product innovations. While the DSM (India) Pvt Ltd will be headed by Chopra,responsible for the total business in India,DSM Engineering Plastics will be headed by Sanjay Jain. DSM Composites will be headed by Ajay Patwardhan and both business groups will be located in Pune,said Chopra.

‘AnantSrishti’ project launched

Dajikaka Gadgil Developers Pvt LTD (DGDPL) launched ‘AnantSrishti’ at Kanhe Phata near Talegaon,close to the Pune-Mumbai highway. Saurabh Gadgil,chairman,DGDPL,told a press meet the property has 600 apartments of 1,2 and 2.5 BHK,70 row houses,150 bungalow plots and an essential shopping complex. It covers a total built-up area of around 1.5 million sq ft. DGDPL managing director Kedar Vanjape said the property promises a pollution-free environment. “The city is witnessing fast-paced growth and the simultaneous growth of infrastructure may prove difficult.”

Spar hypermarket in Viman Nagar

SPAR,a global food retail chain,has opened its first hypermarket in the city. The Viman Nagar store is spread over 37,000 sq ft on a single floor. This is the seventh SPAR store in the country,with the other six located in Delhi,Bangalore,Hyderabad and Mangalore,said Viney Singh,managing director,Max Hypermarket India.
