Water tanker driver dies in collision

The driver of a water tanker was killed after it collided with a truck on Nashik Road near the old octroi booth Wednesday around 9:45 pm. The driver who died was Jyotiran Ventak Sagave (27). The cleaner,Anil Prakash Sagave (21),was injured in the accident. Both were from Bidar in Karnataka. The driver of the truck is yet to be identified. SI BG Sonavane,Bhosari police station,is investigating the matter.

Vadhu villagers want PMPML buses

People of Vadhu village in Shirur tehsil have demanded continuation of PMPML bus services,which had been stopped from Wednesday. Vadhu,about 40 km from Pune,is a tourist attraction as the tomb of Sambhajiraje Bhosale,the son of Shivaji Maharaj,is located there. In a press note by a citizens’ organisation,people demanded resumption of daily bus services from Pune Municipal Corporation bus depot.

3 bills soon,Cabinet nod near,says Tope

As many as three important bills -the technical university bill,self-financed universities bill and Maharashtra unauthorised institution bill for bogus colleges – will be soon introduced in the state,said Minister for Higher and Technical Education Rajesh Tope on Thursday. He said the bills were awaiting Cabinet nod which could happen even this week.
