Pune police have arrested two for the murder of a security guard,Subhash Bhagwan Shinde,whose body was found at Ram Manohar Lohiya Garden in Hadapsar on Monday. Investigations reveal Shinde also worked as a moneylender and his murder could have been the fallout of a financial dispute.

Pulse Polio campaign in city on February 27

WITH West Bengal reporting the countrys first polio case this year,Pune health authorities plan to vaccinate children from the state at the railway station itself. The Pulse Polio Immunization campaign will be undertaken in Pune district on February 27. District health officer Dr Sudhakar Kokane said 4.7 lakh children are expected to receive the dose.

Porters say nothing from Mamata for them

THE porters working at the Pune railway station have expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of any provisions or new announcements in the rail budget 2011-12 for them. With no provisions for grade III and IV employees,the rail budget does not look complete. As a number of backstage artists work to make a production successful,porters,gangmen,trackmen work to facilitate the railway administration and passengers, Mohan Dudhane,chief of the CR Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti in W Maharashtra,said.
