The Talegaon Dabhade police on Tuesday arrested 20-year-old Goldie Mathew for allegedly murdering Surya Subramanyam Swami (20) after their relationship went sour. Swami’s body was found floating in Indrayani riverbed in Talegaon Dabhade on September 29. Mathew is suspected to have taken help from some accomplices in committing the crime,police said. Swami’s father had filed a complaint in Talegaon Dabhade police station based on which police arrested her.

PMC recovers Rs 50 lakh property tax dues

The Pune Municipal Corporation property tax department on Tuesday recovered Rs 50 lakh from owners of two commercial properties in Kharadi after sealing the properties. The civic body had managed to collect Rs 200 crore as property tax in the first two months of April and May. The collection reached Rs 300 crore by September end. A total of 4.4 lakh property owners paid the half yearly taxes before September-end deadline. The civic body is charging 2% penalty from defaulters.
