Dacoits attack cops,flee with revolverA gang of dacoits opened fire at a police team and escaped with the service revolver of an inspector after an encounter at Shilatne village near Lonavla late on Tuesday evening. A Lonavla police team had rushed to the spot after receiving information that trucks were being looted. The service revolver of inspector Nitin Thakre got locked during the shootout and fell down from his hand. The dacoits,who fled with the revolver,could not be traced despite a night-long search. PMPML depot sealedThe Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday sealed the PMPML depot in Sant Tukaram Nagar,which has been reserved for a garden. PCMC commissioner Asheesh Sharma said they had constructed a new depot for the utility in Nehrunagar. The shifting for which corporator Yeshwant Bhosale had been agitating for a year had soured the PCMC-PMPML ties. PMPML CMD Dilip Band on Wednesday said the PCMC had served a notice for shifting the depot.
