Swati Mujumdar,principal director,Symbiosis Open Education Society,and director,Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning,has been awarded the Sanganak Sarathi IT Award 2010. The award,instituted by NGO Sarathi,is in recognition of her contribution towards the use of IT in Distance Education.

Workshop on Olympiads
A workshop on Olympiads for excellence in Science,Technology and Maths was held by Dr Swatee Bapat and Col Anand Bapat,parents of Asilata Bapat and Aniruddha Bapat who have won five Olympiad medals for India,in the city the other day. The workshop for class I-XII students gave first-hand information and tips on various Olympiads.

Mid-Town phase I inaugurated
The first phase of Mid-Town housing project,an Avirat Ventures initiative,was inaugurated on Sunday. Located close to ISCKON temple in Ravet,Mid-Town Phase I envisages 52 one- BHK and 52 two-BHK flats.

Museums day celebrated
Symbiosis Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum and Memorial in collaboration with Symbiosis Afro-Asian Cultural Centre celebrated International Museums Day on Tuesday at Symbiosis campus.
Since 1977,May 18 is celebrated as International Museum Day every year,all over the world. The Day is celebrated as per the theme suggested by International Council of Museum,France. This year,the theme of International Museum Day was Museums for Social Harmony.
Representatives of Aga Khan Palace,Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum,Mahatma Phule Museum,Tilak Museum,Joshis Museum of Miniature Railways and Tribal Museum had come together at Symbiosis Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum to celebrate the day.
