A 138-run partnership between Pushkaraj Chavan and Shubham Ranjane bailed the Maharashtra under-25 side out of a sticky situation against the Rajasthan under-25 side on the second day of the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy,elite group B match,played at Rajsamand. The crucial 138-run stand helped Maharashtra overhaul Rajasthan’s first innings total of 238,giving their side three valuable points. Maharashtra were dismissed for 299.
Maharashtra out of Vinoo Mankad u-19 trophy
Maharashtra’s under-19 team was sent out of the Vinoo Mankad under-19 trophy,after they lost their quarterfinal engagement against Delhi under-19 by 35 runs. Delhi’s captain Hiten Dalal elected to bat after winning the toss. Delhi scored 275 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs. In reply,Maharashtra started briskly with openers Jay Pande and Vijay Zol compiling a 73-run partnership. The first two wickets fell in quick succession and Maharashtra were done in by their batsmen’s inability to string along partnerships.
