Chaos reigned supreme at Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) in Shivajinagar on Tuesday as anxious parents and students queued up submit engineering admission forms on the last day.
Many complained of not being issued non-creamy layer certificates despite submitting forms in May.
I had submitted all my documents in May. I was asked to come on June 13 but I have still not received my certificates. Since the last date of submission of non-creamy layer certificate has gone by,I will not be able to take admission in any engineering college, said Sandeep Tidke,an engineering aspirant.
CFC had issued tokens to students they were supposed to produce at Application Receipt Centres (ARCs) in case they had not received the domicile/ non-creamy layer certificates.
The first time I produced the token at a ARC centre, they refused to acknowledge it. I went back to CFC where they put a stamp on the token along with a signature. But again the ARC did not accept the token, said a student.
On the last date of the form submission on June 14,Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) had extended deadline for engineering aspirants. Students seeking admission to engineering and technology degree courses, who had not obtained non-creamy layer certificate or domicile certificate from district administration by June 15 but had confirmed their online application at ARCs,were allowed to submit the documents between June 16 and June 18.
As many as 10 deputy collectors,10 tehsildars and 10 naib-tehsildars along with 150 employees were deployed to manage the extra rush at Shivajinagar CFC. Until now we have issued 20,000 certificates. Yesterday we distributed around 300 certificates. Even today we gave out around 250 certificates. If there are cases where students have not received their certificates,it is because of of the shortcomings in the forms, said Avinash Hathgal,Sub Divisional Officer,Haveli.
