The musician duo believe that it is easier to approach concerts with no expectations as it helps avoid disappointments

They both come from different backgrounds,and different nationalities. And yet somehow it is the music that they play,which ensures that the two transcend all boundaries and relate to audiences across the globe. For violinist Dmitri Ivanov and pianist Svjatoslav Presnyakov the ability to perform their music overcoming these barriers is among the most important reasons as to why they began playing music.

In the city to perform today,Ivanov says,Coming from a musical background it was not difficult for me to take it up as a profession. The older you get the more you’re drawn towards music. Listening,analysing and most importantly enjoying are some of the most important aspects of music.

The duo will be performing at the Mazda Hall in Camp. Having performed at venues across the globe this will be their third concert in India and the first in Pune. They will be presenting works of various composers namely Beethoven,Wieniawski,Rachmaninov and Tchikovski. According to Presnyakov they are all virtuosos and romance-directed composers but very diverse. There are many stories behind every piece,we will tell them before playing at the concert. And even though this is our first concert in Pune,we are very positive about the response,because we have performed in India earlier and it was nice to see the responses there. Even then we do like to approach a concert with an open mind as that helps us perform better.
