Pune is playing host to Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, among others on the team of Border 2, the multi-starrer sequel to J P Dutta’s 1997 Bollywood blockbuster Border, which is being shot at the National Defence Academy (NDA).

Dosanjh and the production company T-Series shared a video of the team at NDA, even as a drizzle played spoilsport. The clip showed the actors and cast greeting one another, and even mentioned Deol’s famous “Dhai kilo ka haath…” dialogue.

Sunny Deol was among those who shared the team’s picture at NDA on Tuesday morning with the caption: “When all ‘Forces’ Come together! #BORDER2, Diljit Dosanjh & Ahan Shetty join Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan as the battalion kicks off the 3rd schedule at Pune’s National Defence Academy! On-ground, they’re joined by Producers Bhushan Kumar & Nidhi Dutta, Director Anurag Singh, Co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi, as the film moves full throttle! Mark your calendars: Border2 hits theaters on Jan 23, 2026!”

This is the third schedule shooting of the film being directed by Anurag Singh. Singh has previously directed Dosanjh’s hit Punjabi films, Jatt and Juliet (2012), Jatt and Juliet 2 (2013) and Punjab 1984 (2014).

Promising “action, drama, and patriotism like never before”, T-Series Films’ Border 2 is a story of bravery and sacrifice charged with a sense of national courage and pride. The movie is slated to release just before Republic Day next year. Shooting at the NDA is expected to add authenticity to the film.

The dialogues of the movie Border, which starred Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Akshaye Khanna, among others, have attained cult status over the years, so has the song “Sandese aatey hain…” which has turned into a patriotic anthem. Border was based on real-life events at the Battle of Longewala during the India-Pakistan War of 1971.
