The Pune Anti -Terrorism Cell (ATC) and Technical Analysis Wing arrested the owner of a mobile shop for selling a sim card to a person who allegedly furnished bogus documents. Police have also booked another person Rajesh Dhanuram Thakur who allegedly aided the act.
Police said,Ismail Bagwan runs M Omar Mobile Shoppe located near Jijaau Hotel at Swargate Bus Stand. On April 2 one Manish Rameshbahi Chawada visited his shop and bought an Aircel sim after submitting documents of another person. The shop showed carelessness and violated the norms of process of activation of a sim card by not verifying the documents. When the higher officials of the the telecom operator were contacted it was confirmed that the documents submitted were bogus, said Suhas Nadgauda,the investigating officer.
The two have been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 419,465 and 34.
