After engineering and law students, its the turn of Master in Business Studies students of University of Pune to fall victim to delayed revaluation results.
The first semester backlog examinations start on May 2 but the revaluation results are yet to be declared by the varsity.
Master in Business studies is a one-year course. The second semester exam ended on Saturday.
The first semester exam was held in November last year. The results were declared this year. We applied for revaluation within 10 days of the results. Its a huge torture to study for any exam when you are not clear about the backlog papers. We are in mental trauma. The syllabus is huge and there is too less time now, said a student who did not wish to be named.
The university and colleges are indulging in blame game, complain students. When we asked the college, the authorities told us it was because of the teachers strike that revaluation results are getting delayed. But when we asked the university they told us late delivery of data from colleges is the cause of the delay. The students are being made scapegoats in the struggle between university and affiliated colleges, said a student.
The students complain that it the behaviour of the examination department was making it worse. The exam department hardly picks up the phone, and even if they do,they are very rude. We have paid verification and revaluation fee. Hence it is our right to know the results. They behave arrogantly and ask us either to check the university website or call up the college. We call up them up again after cheking the website where the results are not found, and calling up the college in vain. The university officials fail to understand out plight, said a student.
Even after repeated efforts,University of Pune vice-chancellor WN Gade and the officiating controller of examination Balasaheb Naik could not be contacted for their views on the matter .
