Bajaj row: Employees protest outside labour commissioner’s office

The employees of Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL),who have been on strike for over a month,demonstrated outside the office of the additional labour commissioner on Tuesday.

The employees had visited the office to hold a meeting with the commissioner,which was cancelled after the officials of

Bajaj management failed to show up.

Additional labour commissioner R Hendre said since the start of the strike,many meetings have been held between the Bajaj management and the employees’ union.

“The talks had broken down on some contentious issues. Tuesday’s meeting was called to resolve the matter,” he said.

As many as 900 employees took out a rally to the office to protest against the alleged inaction of the commissioner on their several complaints.
