Taxi driver robbed of car
A group of four unidentified men allegedly drugged and robbed a driver of a tourist vehicle and then left him in unconscious state on April 9. The victim,Uttam Genu Lokhande (45) of Pimpri,lodged the complaint at Faraskhana police station on Friday. Police sub-inspector S C Pore,the investigation officer,said,Lokhande works as a driver for a private travel firm. On April 8,he went to Surya Hospital in Kasba Peth to pick up passengers. The passengers gave him cold drink mixed with sedatives during the journey which made him unconscious. Around 8.30 pm on April 9,when he came to senses,he found himself lying at an unknown place. He found that the passengers had taken away his four-wheeler worth Rs 6 lakh and his cell phone. Some local residents helped him reach home. Police said later he lodged the first information report.

Labourer killed by relative
An 18-year-old labourer was allegedly murdered by his relative late on Friday night in Hinjewadi over a petty dispute about coming home late in the night. The deceased,Arun Saket,had come to Pune from his home town Reva in Madhya Pradesh two months ago. Hinjewadi police have arrested his distant relative Onkar Saket (23) for the crime. Subhash Kale,assistant inspector with Hinjewadi police station,said,Arun was working with a manufacturing company in the industrial area. Onkar had allowed him to stay in his room in Jambhulkar Chawl near Hinjewadi village but had issues with his coming late from work. He had also told him not to make noise with utensils. On Friday night,the two had an heated argument following which Onkar attacked Arun with a sharp knife on his neck and other parts of body. He was taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
2 held for duping SBI
The Crime Branch of Pune police has booked three persons for allegedly duping State Bank of India to the tune of Rs 53 lakh by forging documents submitted for loan and by taking fake names. Investigations have revealed that the three had also forged stamps of the sub registrars office. Two of the suspects have been arrested. A crime branch team from Unit III led by inspector Mohan Vidhate arrested Ravindra Dhondiram Rathod (24). Their third accomplice,Vijay Ranse (Ajay Ramesh Kamble),is still at large.
