Army columns deployed for relief in Nanded district
The Mukhed taluka of Nanded district was badly hit by floods following heavy rains over the last two days.

Army columns were deployed for a relief and rescue operation in flood-affected areas of Nanded district late Monday night to provide immediate assistance to the civil administration.
The Mukhed taluka of Nanded district was badly hit by floods following heavy rains over the last two days. “An advance column carried out a reconnaissance and situation assessment at Rawan Village on Monday. The situation regarding safety of lives and rehabilitation measures were reviewed.” said a press statement from the Defence PRO, Pune.
Army authorities said following relief work at Rawan, the main flood relief column moved towards Hasnaal Village to obtain a fresh ground update. Rahul Kardile, District Collector, Nanded, visited Hasnaal Village on Tuesday. A comprehensive review of the overall flood in the district was undertaken following a meeting between the District Collector and Army officials,
“Out of the five persons reported missing earlier, four bodies have been recovered, while one individual is still untraced. Army columns, in close coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Administration, are sustaining flood relief operations in the affected areas of Nanded district, Maharashtra,” read the press statement.
As per the latest update, nearly 80 per cent of Hasnaal Village continued to remain inundated. Army columns were actively engaged in relocating families to safer areas. To extend immediate humanitarian assistance, a medical camp was established and food distribution points set up to support affected residents, officials said.
