The condition of Anna Hazare showed considerable improvement on Monday while his team left the decision on his proposed campaign in five poll-bound states to the discretion of the 74-year-old activist. Annajis health is of prime importance to us; he would take a decision regarding campaign in poll-bound
states at the core committee meeting, Team
Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said.
Speaking to reporters after he met Hazare at Sancheti Hospital here,Kejriwal said the date for the core committee meeting would be finalised once the activists health improves. The core committee meeting, scheduled on January 2 and 3,was postponed following Hazares ailment. The election in the five states are scheduled to begin on January 28.
On the proposed campaign,he said,The decision about campaigning is entirely dependent on him (Anna). We would consult the doctors before taking a decision in this regard. The core committee would discuss and give him suggestions on the campaign but the final decision on campaign would be left to Annaji.
Kejriwal had come to the hospital around noon and stayed with Hazare till evening, with reporters waiting outside for hours.
He said the core committee meeting would be convened in Ralegan Siddhi. Annaji should be able to sit for the entire meeting. Once his health stabilises,we would decide on the dates.
He refused to comment on Lalu Prasad Yadavs allegation that he had forced Hazare to fast in Mumbai. I wouldnt like to react to what he said about me.
Hazares doctor Dr Parag Sancheti, meanwhile, said there had been considerable improvement in the activists health. Though the cough and chest infection has subsided, the decision on discharging him could only be taken on Thursday or Friday.
Asked if it would be advisable for Hazare to go on a campaign,Sancheti said,Anna should avoid stressful activities. He should not undertake any fasts for a month. He needs complete rest for a month.
