“I recently changed my mobile ringtone from Sweet Dreams,by Marilyn Manson, which was my son’s handiwork to a much slower number by Black Sabbath called Solitude. The reason as to why I have that song as my ring tone is because firstly it incorporates a lot of slow melodic tones, and also has the fusion of a flute and a violin. It’s more like the song one hears on a quiet evening,so every time my phone rings it reminds me of a quiet and peaceful time.”

I am Shah Rukh Khan’s die-hard fan and that is quite evident from my choice of caller tunes. Currently I have Tu hi to zannat meri… from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. I find the lyrics very soothing and true. The song also teaches some values. Therefore I chose it as a caller tune and not a ring tone,so that others can enjoy and learn from it.

My song is – aapki aankhon mein kuch from the movie Ghar. However,I have an interesting reason behind choosing the caller tune. The song being a beautiful one,has helped me avoid arguments and iron out issues. I feel caller tunes are more like your message to your caller, irrespective of your relation or him or her. And this has worked for me. I have two numbers and at times I myself listen to this song.

I had Aapki aankhon mein kuch as my ring tone. “Apart from the fact that I like the song because it is good and melodious,I hold this song close to my heart as I had sung this song once during a college fest. I had this song for long until last Saturday, when I changed it to You are my favourite mistake by Sheryl Crow. I don’t choose song by its newness, but the emotion it portrays and how close I find it to myself.

I love the evergreen hit from Golmaal – Aane wala pal, jane wala hai. When people ask me what makes this song my choice as ring tone,I say- The song introduces you to the truth of life in a subtle and melodious way. And I have always liked a song that keeps you grounded to reality and make you live every moment. And this song precisely serves the purpose. I don’t think age only elders like soft numbers. We youngsters too are entitled to like old numbers.
