With eye on Konkan,Congress plans rallies during Chavan visit

In A bid to gain political mileage in Konkan during Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s two-day visit starting Friday,the Congress has organised two rallies in the region where the Shiv Sena and the NCP are the dominant political parties.

Chavan is scheduled to address a district review meeting at Oros in Industries Minister Narayan Rane’s home district Sindhudurg on Friday. He is to address a Congress rally organised by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee at Kankavli the same evening.

The next day,Chavan is scheduled to visit Jaitapur to interact with people opposing the proposed nuclear power project. Later,the MPCC has organised another rally at Ratnagiri.
