The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday told the Bombay High Court that it would file the chargesheet in an alleged fake bail bonds case in five months.
The statement was made in the context of a public interest litigation filed by activist Samir Zaveri. According to Zaveri,a group of Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials at Kurla Terminus extorted money from commuters found to be crossing the railway tracks by posing as magistrates and issuing fake bail bonds.
The court has also directed the RPF to complete its departmental inquiry against the accused within a period of four weeks.
The probe was handed over to CBI in August.
