Vijaraman shocks Prajwal

Top seed Akshay I.B. from Tamil Nadu cruised into the second round of the boys under-16 singles category of the Cricket Club of India (CCI) 6th Ramesh Desai Memorial National Tennis Championship 2012,played at the (CCI) courts on Monday.

Akshay waltzed to a straight sets 6-2,6-1 victory against Sgrey Gupta of Haryana in a first round encounter.

Meanwhile,Vasudev Vijaraman of Tamil Nadu rallied to score a shock win against ninth seed Prajwal Dev S.D. of Karnataka. Vasudev after losing the opening set prevailed at 3-6,6-1,7-5.

Maharashtras Indra Patwardhan also recovered from the loss of the opening set to overcome Vignesh N of Uttar Pradesh 4-6,6-3,7-5 in a long drawn encounter.
