Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray will be holding a public rally in Hingoli district in Marathwada on Sunday.

This will be the first rally of Uddhav in Hingoli where he is likely to take on BJP and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. “Uddhav will be going on a Marathwada visit from August 27 this month. During his visit to Hingoli, he will be holding a public rally ‘Nirdhar’ in Hingoli on Sunday. The rally will start around 3pm,” a Sena functionary said.

Interestingly, Hingoli is the Assembly constituency of Santosh Bangar, the Sena MLA who had launched rebellion against Thackeray and joined Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

A few days ago, while addressing party workers from Pen (Raigad) at Matoshree, Uddhav had announced that on August 27 he will be holding a public rally in Hingoli district and soon after that he will also hold the rally in Pen.

“We had put the rallies on hold recently due to the onset of rain and due to the summer. Now we will resume it soon. I am going to Hingoli on August 27 and then whenever you all will decide the date, I will come to Pen and speak to you,” Uddhav had said.

After the vertical split in the party engineered by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and losing the party name Shiv Sena and party polls symbol bow and arrow to Shinde-led Sena, it is a challenge for Uddhav to rebuild the party and keep his flock together.

In order to rebuild the party, Uddhav has been touring Maharashtra and holding rallies in every district particularly in the constituencies of the rebel Sena MLAs and MPs.
