A constable with the Pydhonie Traffic Police division suffered injuries after he was knocked down by a two-wheeler at Byculla end of the JJ flyover on Saturday morning.
Senior Police Inspector M Patil from the Pydhonie traffic police division said,After two-wheelers were banned on JJ flyover,we have been posting constables at the Byculla end of the flyover to ensure the ban is implemented. On Saturday morning,constable Balam Mulla (56) was on duty when a woman on two wheeler rammed into him while he was trying to stop her. The woman lost control of the vehcile and hit Mulla. He suffered injuries on his knee and hands.
The woman was apprehended by other constables on the spot and Mulla was rushed to JJ Hospital for treatment. The woman,identified as Tehsin Mohammad Hakra (38) from Byculla,has been arrested and charged with rash and negligent driving. Mulla seems to have suffered minor injuries and is out of danger.
