Meanwhile, the crime branch is on the lookout for one Dishan Khan alias Dishan Batata, alleged to be the supplier to the two accused arrested in the case.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested two persons and seized mephedrone worth Rs 4 crore from them.
Meanwhile, the crime branch is on the lookout for one Dishan Khan alias Dishan Batata, alleged to be the supplier to the two accused arrested in the case.
The crime branch is also checking if Dishan is linked to Shadab Batata arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drugs case in 2021. Shadab is the son of Farooq Shaikh alias Farooq Batata, who as per police, was alleged to have links to the underworld.
An officer said that based on an input that two drug peddlers were to come near Gilbert Hill in Andheri (west), a team from crime branch (unit IX) laid a trap and apprehended the two persons. The duo identified as Arshad Shaikh (26), a goat seller, and Imran Memon (26), a Palghar resident, were found in possession of a total of 2,033 grams (one accused with 1,016 grams and the other accused with 1,017 grams) of Mephedrone. Accordingly a criminal case was registered at D N Nagar Police station and an investigation is underway.
Inspector Daya Nayak, who led the probe, said the arrested persons were major mephedrone suppliers to the city, and hence were carrying such a large consignment of mephedrone with them. Mephedrone or Meow Meow, popular as a cheaper substitute of Cocaine, has been in high demand in the city over the past few years.
