A day after the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) held its convocation, a post-graduate student has complained that she was declared ineligible to attend the ceremony. The student alleged that a senior professor of the institute sexually harassed her last year following which she lodged a complaint against him.

“…A committee was formed against me which recommended my rustication. I approached the Bombay High Court and managed to get a stay order to continue my studies for the last semester in December 2022,” said the student.

The institute said the student is rusticated in a different case and she has moved the high court against the rustication order. “Since the matter is sub-judice, we will wait for the order of the court for further action.”
