Teen attacks another with blade for teasing girlfriend

According to the Navghar police,the 14-year-old accused is a student of Queen’s Mary School in Bhayander (East) and was informed by his classmates that a boy had allegedly eveteased his girlfriend on Monday.

The accused,along with two other classmates,also minors,dragged the victim while he was coming out of the school on Monday noon and assaulted him. After hearing the chaos,victim’s elder brother,who also studies in the same school,tried to intervene,but he too was attacked. In a fit of rage,the accused took out a razor and slashed the victim’s stomach 26 times and fled the spot along with other students.

His brother raised an alarm and with the help of other students took the victim to Care Hospital in Bhayander,where he received around 16 stitches. The victim’s condition is still critical,said the doctors. The victim’s parents registered a case with the Navghar police after they learnt about the incident.

When contacted,API Satish Shivarkar of Navghar police station said they had charged the accused with attempt to murder and arrested him on Monday evening.

“The accused was sent to a children’s home on Tuesday,” said Shivarkar.

“We are searching for his friends,who helped him in the attack. The attack was an act of revenge by the accused,who felt offended after the victim allegedly misbehaved with his girlfriend from the same school. The accused,along with two of his friends,had planned to threaten the victim,” said Shivarkar.
