Mumbai: Suspended cops arrested, get bail

The CCTV camera at the shop also captured the assault. A senior officer said while the trio has been released on bail, the enquiry against them is still going on.

THE THREE Mumbai Police constables, who were suspended for attacking employees of a sweet mart in Mahim early Saturday, were placed under formal arrest and subsequently released on a bail bond of Rs 5,000 each on Sunday. An FIR was registered with the Mahim police station.

The incident took place at Sandesh Sweets in Mahim. As per the FIR. constables Rajdeep More, Vishal Bhagat and Yashwant Kamble — all attached with the Shahu Nagar police station — broke into the shop and thrashed the sleeping workers and damaged some furniture. The CCTV camera at the shop also captured the assault.

A senior officer said while the trio has been released on bail, the enquiry against them is still going on.
